Hi Andre. We have a CSV and KML import and export functionality for locations. A CSV import functionality for contacts will be available tomorrow. For the installs it is not planned. Would you find that useful? Installs link contacts and hotspots by their id's, along with installed at and until dates. That's not something we imagined people would have in an excel file but correct me if I'm wrong here.

Max: I don't believe installs would be that useful for this feature, no. I think if you guys could add some type of 'photo' attachment or 'file' feature to add to each contact that would be great as well.

Andre Benz: alright great. That was indeed on our minds already but it would be cool if you could create a feature request for that so people can upvote it.
Meanwhile I just finished and deployed the import contacts functionality by csv file so we can mark this feature as completed.

Max: I know this is already half a year old, but just to wanted add a point to the bulk installs here.
Important to understand that bulk installs would make migration to Hotspotty way way easier, especially for larger customers who own and manage more then 50 hotspots... I for one need to migrate 300 installs and its a pain to do one by one.
I understand that linking might not be easy, but there are a few ways you could do this or at least make it easier on users:
- You could either include an ID field on contacts and hotspot lists CSV exports, so that you could then you could upload an installs CSV file (Square does this)
- You could link by the contact's email and hotspot address (and then lookup and link their individual internal IDs)
- You could also provide a faster input method, like a spreadsheet like interface (Shareworks is an example).
- Another way is to simply allow to link multiple contacts to a hotspot. In our case we have both hosts and managers dealing with each hotspot. While it wouldn't solve the issue, it would could work down to half...
Please keep that in mind :)
